Taking on the challenge for finding the lightest aluminium wheels was the first, and still the top priority of Gale Speed. It is its origin.

The mission

Develop aluminum wheels as light as magnesium.

THE ORIGINS

The ban on Magnesium wheel in the All Japan Road Racing Championship sparked the need for a lightweight alternative. Since the ban was enforced only in Japan, brands producing lightweight rims were not interested in developing aluminum wheels that could match their magnesium counterparts.

This sparked the need for a new player in performance wheels: Gale Speed was born. Focussing solely on aluminum wheels. Producing aluminum rims that could compete on top level with the magnesium competitors. Resulting in unmatched performance when it comes to aluminum wheels.

Type SB1

The most recent and lightest Gale Speed wheels
Developed together with the World Superbike teams, hence the name.
The curved small spokes give the wheels the needed suppleness while retaining strength under braking and accelerating.

Type GP1S

The predecessor of the SB1. Widely used in the WSBK, JRRC, and EWC.
These wheels have earned their place when it comes to performance.
Originally called GP1, the GP1S is the updated version that also matches all criteria for street use.

Type E

The ‘E’ of Endurance. Made for its own purpose within the Gale Speed line-up.
The aim was more air in the tyre. The wheels are part of the suspension; therefore, the amount of air in the tyres largely dictates the suspension performance.
Resulting in more grip and more stable tyre temperatures. Ideal for when enduring performance is needed — but also more comfort and more forgiving performance, and thus the perfect choice for street riders.

Personalized color options

That special bike, sometimes needs that special wheel. The perfect personal touch to these already special wheels.

We also offer a wide range of extra color options, next to the standard white, black and gold. You can choose from anodized and powder coated options. Keep in mind though, the production time will increase further, as the coloring is an extra process.
